WhatsApp working on new ‘kept messages’ feature on Android
WhatsApp is said to be working on a redesigned ‘saved messages’ feature on Android, which will allow users to keep or undo a saved message.
San Francisco: Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly working on a redesigned ‘saved messages’ feature on Android, which will give users the ability to keep or undo a message saved.
As reported by WABetaInfo, with the new feature, it is possible to keep a message from disappearing to avoid expiration.
The messaging platform is working on including this feature in a future app update.
Users in the chat can keep a temporary message or undo a saved message by viewing the message preferences.
However, if they undo a saved message, it will automatically be deleted for everyone and will not be recoverable, the report said.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, the messaging platform started rolling out a new disappearing message shortcut on Android beta.
After downloading the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android 2.22.25.11, some users were able to access the new feature.
The new shortcut is located in the ‘Memory management’ section and is marked as a tool to save space.
