San Francisco: Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has launched an ‘annotated media forward’ feature on iOS, giving users the ability to forward captioned images, videos, GIFs and documents.
After downloading the latest WhatsApp for iOS 22.23.77 update from the App Store, some users were able to access the new feature, as reported by WABetaInfo.
Users must forward a captioned image to see if this capability is enabled for their account, and a new view will appear at the bottom of the screen.
Also, if someone doesn’t want to forward the caption, a dismiss button will be provided to remove the caption from the image before forwarding the message.
The report says the feature will roll out to more users in the coming days.
