According to feature tracker WhatsApp, the instant messaging app owned by Meta has released a beta update for Windows 2.2246.4.0 that brings the ability to manage call history within the desktop app itself. . This means that the feature is currently only available to beta users on desktop.
The reported screenshot shared shows a new calls tab on the home page when the WhatsApp web is open. The new call tab will show the call history in WhatsApp’s desktop app. They will also see information about the call by opening the call card.
The report also adds that calls made from the desktop may not be visible on the user’s smartphone as the feature is currently in beta. The issue will likely be resolved in a future release.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is said to be developing a new feature called Screen Lock for desktop users. The feature will ask for the password every time any user opens the app. This feature will add an extra layer of protection to WhatsApp web user accounts. It will protect the user’s account from unauthorized access when the user is not using his device running WhatsApp.
