According to 9to5Mac, major ride-hailing app Uber and its subsidiary Uber Eats support the Live iPhone feature.
San Francisco: Large ride-hailing company Uber and its subsidiary Uber Eats support the Live iPhone feature.
According to 9to5Mac, the feature will allow users to easily track their trips and orders through the iPhone 14 Pro’s Lock Screen or Dynamic Island.
Dynamic Island is a pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen.
Live activity for Uber was first spotted by a user on Reddit who saw the option pop up during an Uber ride.
Furthermore, one Twitter user also reported that he had seen the feature for both Uber and Uber Eats, according to the report.
With Uber’s Live Activity feature, users can view the progress of their ride or delivery.
The Uber Eats app will show users the progress of their order as the order is prepared by the restaurant, the delivery driver picks it up and delivers it.
However, not everyone is seeing this new feature, suggesting the company may be rolling it out in phases while it continues to test the feature, the report said.
Users can download the latest versions of the Uber and Uber Eats apps from the App Store.
Users must also enable Live Activity for those apps by going to the Settings app, finding the Uber and Uber Eats apps, and then enabling the “Live Activity” toggle.
