Twitter plans to charge $20 per month for verification
San Francisco: Twitter planned to charge users $19.99 per month for verification.
According to The Verge, employees received the first deadline from Elon Musk – meet his deadline to start paid verification on the platform or leave immediately.
Twitter Blue, the company’s optional $4.99 per month subscription that unlocks extra features converts to a more expensive subscription that also verifies users.
Verified users will have 90 days to sign up under the current plan to keep their blue check mark, the report said.
We have informed team members that failure to launch this feature by the November 7 deadline will result in termination.
The Twitter Blue subscription became widely available over a year ago as a way to read articles from a number of publishers without ads and make other changes to the app, such as changing Change the color of the app’s icon on the home screen.
Musk wants subscriptions to grow to account for half of the business’s total revenue.
Musk recently said that the platform could expand or even remove the 280 character limit on the platform.
He also confirmed that his company was looking at increasing the length of videos so that users could post longer videos.
