OnePlus to offer four major Android updates on selected devices from next year

Smartphone maker OnePlus will deliver four major Android updates on select devices from next year. The company has also announced that security updates on select smartphones will be made available for a period of 5 years. This means that users of selected devices will receive four Oxygen OS updates for life.

Speaking of OS updates, Samsung was one of the first companies to offer four major updates along with security patches for 5 years (on select smartphones). OnePlus is all set to launch its next flagship device, the OnePlus 11 in the first half of 2023.

OnePlus 11 is expected to offer the latest Qualcomm processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. According to tipster Max Jambor, the new device is expected to offer a new color variant. The tipper mentioned the presence of Matte Black and Glossy Green finishes on the smartphone. The smartphone will also come in other color variants.

When it comes to smartphone specs, the OnePlus 11 seems to offer great features. The device will offer a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Regarding the camera, the main 50MP camera is placed on the back of the device. Other cameras present at the rear include a 48MP ultra-wide sensor as well as a telephoto lens. The front camera is a 32MP camera and will be present in the camera hole.

In terms of RAM, the smartphone is expected to offer up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The operating system provided on the device will be Android 13 based on Oxygen OS.
