Now search any image with Google Lens directly in homepage search box
San Francisco: Google has added the Lens button option directly to the search box on the homepage along with the voice search button. Now, users can directly search for any image using Google Lens on the homepage.
You can use Google Lens easily by simply clicking the button that appears next to the voice search button, then dragging an image here or uploading a file.
Rajan Patel, Google’s vice president of engineering, said in a tweet that “Google Home doesn’t change often, but it does. We are always working to expand the types of questions you can ask and improve the way we answer them.”
Users can ask any visual question easily from their desktop directly on the homepage, he added. According to the report, Google Lens was moved from mobile to the desktop web with Google Photos and then Chrome last year.
Back in August, Google Images on desktop sites switched to Lens. It also shows up in the search field on the results page.
Google Lens is an image recognition tool that uses image analysis to identify things and display relevant information about them. Google Lens allows you to search for specific information by uploading a photo to Google Search and then the search engine shows you visually similar results.
Earlier, the tech giant was rumored to be testing adding Lens to the web desktop Search feature.
Originally, Google Lens was primarily a visual lookup tool for mobile devices. Later, the search giant forked the tool to Chrome. The next expansion could see Google Search the web for desktop add Lenses.
