Domino’s to roll out electric pizza delivery fleet with Chevy Bolts in US

San Francisco: Pizza chain Domino’s has announced that it will launch more than 800 electric pizza delivery vehicles with Chevy Bolts, for electric pizza delivery in the US.

This month, more than 100 custom-branded 2023 Chevy Bolt electric vehicles will be delivered to select franchise stores and companies across the United States, and 700 more will launch in the coming months.

“Domino’s launched pizza delivery in 1960 with the Volkswagen Beetle, launching the DXP – a custom-built pizza delivery vehicle – in 2015,” said Russell Weiner, CEO of Domino’s.

“We’ve committed to net zero carbon emissions by 2050, and this is one way we can start reducing our environmental impact, one at a time,” Weiner added.

Electric vehicles benefit Domino’s stores in many ways, such as reducing average maintenance costs compared to non-electric vehicles, providing sufficient battery life with multi-day delivery capabilities, etc. do not suffer any financial impact of high gasoline prices.

“Today, Domino’s offers e-bikes and scooters in 24 international markets, including the United States,” the company said.
