Bhubaneswar experiences 5G connectivity ahead of the official launch
India’s temple city- Bhubaneswar is experiencing 5G connectivity and that also happens before the official launch. For those who don’t know, 5G services will be launched by Union Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on January 5 (tomorrow). The Union Minister will also donate 100 4G Telecommunication Tower Numbers in rural areas of Odisha.
Speaking of 5G connectivity in Bhubaneswar, we think telecom operators are running similar tests in some parts of the city. This may be the reason that only certain areas of the city receive 5G connectivity. We (KalingaTV) went through the majority of areas of Bhubaneswar and got 4G connection. However, when surfing through the Chandrasekharpur area of the city, we got a 5G signal. To confirm our location, we opened Google Maps on our device and then took a screenshot of the same. You can check the screenshot below.
To test the speed of the internet, we used Ookla. However, we found that the download speed was 284.10 Mbps. User tested 5G internet connection using Airtel network and Android smartphone.
Earlier, during his visit to the groundbreaking ceremony of the Bhubaneswar Railway Station redevelopment, Federal Minister Vaishnaw announced that the rollout of 5G services in the state (Odisha) will be done before 26/26. first.
5G connectivity has been around for a long time in India and it’s nice to see that it’s finally here. In terms of 5G deployment, China has the highest number of cities with 5G connectivity, according to a Statista report. China has 5G connections across 356 cities. On the other hand, USA and Philippines are 2rank and 3rank about 5G deployment. The US offers 5G in 296 cities while the Philippines offers 5G in 98 cities. Other countries offering 5G in more than 50 cities include South Korea, Canada, Spain, Italy, Germany, and the UK.
