7 affordable smartphones with IP rating in India: POCO M4 5G, Moto G52, Redmi Note 11, and more

ip rated

Among high-end smartphones, IP rating is a kind of must-have feature. More and more smartphone manufacturers are joining the group, offering some sort of IP rating for dust and water resistance in an effort to attract more users. And as technology advances, this feature is gradually appearing on smartphones at lower prices. The market is currently flooded with smartphones with Ingress Protection (IP) ratings, with prices starting as low as Rs 14,000. We have compiled a list of top smartphones with effective IP ratings in the market under Rs 30,000.

What is IP Rating?

In fact, it is important to understand what an IP rating is before we continue with the list. You can determine your device’s level of protection against solids and liquids by looking at its IP rating. “IP” stands for Ingress Protection and is followed by two numbers. The International Electrotechnical Commission establishes these. The first number, which varies from one to six, represents the degree of protection against solid particles (dirt, etc.). The second number, which ranges from one to eight, indicates how much water the device can withstand before it fails; The larger the number, the better the protection. An X can sometimes appear in the rating, which indicates that the device manufacturer omitted that particular test.

For instance, the phone has an IP67 rating that is completely dustproof and can be submerged in water up to one meter (3.3 feet) deep for no more than 30 minutes, while the phone has an IP68 rating for fully dustproof and can withstand immersion in water up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) deep for 30 minutes.

Now that we have a quick recap of IP ratings, let’s get to the list.
