During the special vigil, eight grandchildren – including Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsorand James, Viscount Severn – gathered around the late king to pay their respects with 15 minutes of silent meditation.

In Of King Charles III requested, Prince Harry has been allowed to wear his military uniform, as he was expecting to wear civilian clothes as he is no longer a working royal. He wore civilian clothes for Wednesday’s funeral from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall. The move is another sign that King Charles III is seeking to reconcile with his younger son as relations between the families have become strained recently. After Harry and Meghan retired from royal duties and moved to the United States, interaction between the couple and the royal family has been non-existent. The Sussexes were visiting the UK for charity events when the Queen passed away, but, as previously reported, there are no plans to visit with William and Kate, nor his biological father.

Although Prince William and Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Correspondingly, not allowed to attend the ceremony, the quartet reunited earlier in the week outside Windsor Castle. Two couples greeted onlookers as they viewed gifts in tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II. In a statement from Buckingham Palace, a royal spokesman said William, who is now known as the Prince of Wales, “has invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join him and the Princess of Wales.
