Kathy Griffin Is ‘Not Sure’ Her Voice Will Return To Normal After Lung Cancer Treatment: Watch
Comedian Kathy Griffin61 years old, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on September 20 and told the host that her voice had not yet returned to its pre-cancer state. Jimmy Kimmel asked her if her voice would “refresh” as her recordings recovered from lung surgery. “I think it will return to normal but I am not sure. I’m still working on it,” the comedian said. He then assures her that her voice is “more fun this way!” Kathy couldn’t disagree and added that she believes her voice after cancer makes her sound “non-threatening and certain.”
Before diving into the fact that she has replaced Chris Pine, 42 years old, as Jimmy’s guest on the night, she explained the sound of her voice to the studio audience. “So the last time I was here – very quickly – I had lung cancer, they took half of my left lung, and so my voice was partially damaged,” Kathy said. She then added, “I’m fine, it doesn’t hurt, and the important thing is my boobs are still great.” Thankfully, Kathy is officially cancer free in November 2021, which she revealed on Jimmy’s show. “Did the doctor get it all? Did they get all the lung cancer out there? ”, asked the presenter. “Yes! I don’t have cancer,” Kathy choked.
On Tuesday night’s episode, the late-night host even told Kathy, “Thank God you’re a comedian, not a cop.” She couldn’t help but make jokes and quip, “Can you imagine? ‘Stop! Cut it out, guys! Be more beautiful! ‘” On August 2, 2021, the 61-year-old took to Instagram to announce that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer. “I have to tell you something. I have cancer. I am about to have surgery to remove half of my left lung. Yes, I have lung cancer even though I have never smoked! “Kathy wrote at the time. “The doctors are very optimistic because this is stage one and is in my left lung. Hopefully there’s no chemotherapy or radiation after that and I’ll function normally with my breathing. I’ll start and run around as usual in a month or less. “
The statement went on to read, “It’s been 4 years, trying to get back to work, making you guys laugh and entertaining you guys, but I’ll be fine.” Kathy then urged her fans to take care of their health. “Of course I am fully vaccinated against Covid. The consequences of not being immunized will be even more severe. Stay up-to-date on your health checkups. It saves your life. XXOO, KG,” she concluded.
Following the incredible news of her improved health, the hilarious actress celebrated with numerous online social media posts. On February 12, she celebrated by nude dip in her pool and share the fun moment on Twitter. “6 months lung cancer scan is CLEAN!!! No more #cancer. And yes, I’m skinny dipping in the pool while shaking my chest and butt. SO, WHAT IS IT? ,” wrote Kathy.
On Tuesday night, the Emmy winner sat down to talk not only about her cancer recovery with Jimmy, but also about her upcoming movie! Kathy starred in the Comedy Central original series, Cursed Friends, will premiere on October 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Joining her in the cast is Nicole Byer (Nail it!), Harvey Guillen (What do we do in the dark), Jessica Lowe (Minx) and Dangerous force star Andrew Lewis Caldwell.
