“This is a very treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I feel very lucky,” she continued. “I am also lucky because I have health insurance and have access to the best doctors and treatments. I realized, and painfully, that I had the privilege of doing this. Almost every family in America has faced cancer at one time or another and too many people do not have access to the quality health care that I am receiving and this is not true. “

The Oscar winner went on to say she hopes there will be more awareness about the “cause” of cancer, rather than a cure, so that the disease can be “removed”.
