Jamie Lee Curtis In ‘Halloween’ Franchise: How Many Movies She’s Been In & Her Future After ‘Halloween Ends’

Michael Myers hasn’t seen the last of the Jamie Lee Curtis…but. As her longtime character Laurie Strode prepares to confront the famous killer once again in Halloween is over, fans are wondering how many times she has played the iconic, genre-defining “last girl” in the franchise. Here’s our recap of every time she plays the tenacious babysitter, from John CarpenterThe 1978 classic, up until the last part, hits theaters on Friday, October 14.

John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978)

Jamie defined an entire genre when she took on babysitting from hell in 1978. As Laurie Strode, Jamie fought hard to create a space in horror history, and she did. a formidable job. When Michael Myers escapes from the refugee camp and returns to fictional Haddonfield, Illinois on Halloween night, he faces an enemy whose will to survive is destined to torture him for decades to come.

The masked killer relentlessly hunts and kills each of Laurie’s friends, ultimately losing the final battle against the ferocious teenagers who truly hell want to protect the children she loves. She’s there to babysit. Trying his best, he is unable to kill Laurie, and falls off the balcony after being shot by psychiatrist Loomis (Donald Pleasence). Of course, he escapes into the inky blackness of Halloween night, to kill people again and again.

Jamie is known for being one of the first women to portray the “last girl” in the oddly beloved horror film. Based on Fandomdirector Carpenter chose her in tribute to Alfred Hitchcock’s legendary horror film Mentalwith her mother involved, of course, Janet Leigh. Jamie is said to have been terrified that she would be dropped from the role. Instead, like her mother, she has been relegated to film history.

Halloween Extended Edition / TV Cut (1980)

Jamie’s Pumpkin and Knife Show really caught the eye. In 1981, she literally rewatched the original film for an extended cut that would air on television. Every Fandom, she cut her hair short and had to wear a wig constantly. The plot has largely remained the same, but some additions have been made to make up for the edits required by NBC’s Standards and Practices. Of course, the “Shape” of consumption is also there.

Halloween II (1981)

Both Jamie Lee and the director John Carpenter returned for the bloody sequel as the decade passed, although Carpenter only shot a limited number of scenes, with Rick Rosenthal leading the majority of the film. Taking place shortly after the first film, Laurie is taken to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, and there, as a patient, endures yet another bloody stalking of the deranged killer. It’s a terrifyingly creative extension of the first film and solidifies the franchise as a classic. Laurie, of course, will live another round. Jamie was 22 years old when she returned to Haddonfield immediately.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)

The modernized version features Laurie returning as a private school principal with a sexy pixie cut and a side appearance. Josh Hartnett and Michelle Williams, among others. More important, H20 marked her appearance in a horror film alongside her mother Janet, who played Norma Watson. Jamie starred as Laurie Strode/Keri Tate (with witness protection, of course), and the film revived the franchise, and Myers’ original plot, in a bloody way.

Halloween: Easter (2002)

By 2002, a whole new generation had discovered the thrilling thrill of the Michael Myers / Laurie Strode hunt. Helped by Rick Rosenthal and sprinkle a little supermodel and pop star magic (Bank Tyra and Busta Rhymesanyone?) This thriller proved that this series is not going anywhere anytime soon. Jamie, for his part, continued to hold the franchise with incredible strength, gritting his teeth. In this meaty sequel, Michael famously returns to Haddonfield to wreak havoc on the cast of a reality show.

Halloween (2018)

Another decade and a half passed before Jamie was ready to return to the role of a lifetime. That moment, Scout Taylor-Compton and Danielle Harris tried her hand at the role of Laurie in Halloween movie– but Jamie was always destined to return. Simple naming Halloweenthe movie will reset and update the iconic plot with the original elements and kick it off into a trilogy that will eventually end with Halloween is over – the highly-anticipated finale hits theaters on Friday, October 14. Currently, Laurie has a daughter of her own, Karen, who plays throughout the trilogy. Judy Greer. John Carpenter holds the role of CEO, so his genius hand has contributed in no small part to the success of the direct sequel produced by Universal Pictures – the home of the original film.

Halloween Kills (2021)

Take a hint from Halloween II, Halloween Kills overcome the pandemic to get to the right place where the 2018 movie left off. After that, Laurie spends the better part of the film in her hospital bed while a wary crowd forms, determined to bring Haddonfield back. But it all happened oh, terrible mistake, in the great tradition of Michael Myers. Loaded with a lot of harsh social commentary, the film did its best to keep the franchise alive, even though it felt like a typical average installment.

Halloween Ends (2022)

Directed by David Gordon Greenwho directed the last three films for some tight continuity, Halloween is over aims to bring the last forty bloody years to a chilling climax and end it for good. Well then, where will that leave our hero, Beloved Last Girl? Based on SFX Magazine, She wouldn’t rule out a return entirely. “I was sitting exactly where I was right now when my phone rang, and it was Jake Gyllenhaal,” she recounts.
