Four years ago, Michael Myers regained the title of top villain in the horror world with the resounding success of 2018. Halloween. That movie was so successful at the box office that it spawned two sequels – 2021 Halloween Kills and this year Halloween End, which is said to be the final film in the franchise’s 44 years. And if it is, in fact, finally Halloween the movie we’re going to get (probably won’t – let’s be honest), then we won’t complain. Halloween is over ended the franchise on a high note and gave Jamie Lee Curtis‘The iconic last girl Laurie Strode got the ending she deserved.

Halloween is over Start with a very well built cold opening. On Halloween 2019, babysitter Corey (Rohan Campbell) observed a boy while his parents attended a street party. Corey and the boy happily watch scary movies together, but the night takes a scary turn when the boy dies from a terrible fall and Corey is blamed for that.
Three years later, in present-day Haddonfield, Laurie is writing a book, living with her niece Allyson (And me Maticak), and really enjoy life. Michael apparently killed her daughter (Judy Greer) four years ago (in Halloween Killing), but he has not been seen since.

Laurie is trying to move on with her life, but the town blames her for Michael’s past act of bloodshed. The town also bullied Corey, even after he was acquitted of manslaughter, so she befriended him. After all, they both shared their fair share of hurt. But as time passed, Laurie saw something in Corey’s eyes that she had seen in Michael. And she especially started to worry after Corey started dating Allyson. Things soon boil over and, as usual, things quickly turn violent in Haddonfield on Halloween night.

The movie offers quite a few curves that we don’t see coming (Corey becomes a Michael fan), and while we love it, it’s risky to take on something too heavy right away. before the curtain closes. But if you ask us, it paid off in the end. The murders are memorable, Kyle Richards back (again) as Lindsey Wallace, there is respect for the franchise in general (some even nod to Halloween III: Season Of The Witch), and Laurie’s final battle with Michael will have you cheering for one second and gasping for breath the next. It may not be the strongest entry in the longstanding franchise, but Halloween is over now one of our favorites Halloween film.
Halloween is over Now showing in cinemas everywhere and streaming on Peacock.
