“Has talked to [Kanye “Ye” West] today,” Elon Musk, 51, tweeted on October 10, days after Ye, 45, was locked out of Twitter for making hateful comments on the app. Elon, who already owns the social media platform, said he “expressed my concerns about [Ye’s] tweet recently, “referring to how Ye said he would ‘death 3’ on the Jewish community. SpaceX founder and Tesla CEO said he spoke to his friend and that ” I think he was [the concerns] to the heart.”

Elon welcomes Ye’s return to the app for the first time with joy. “Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!” Elon tweeted on October 8 in response to Ye’s first tweet in a long time. West has spent most of recent years on Instagram but is restricted on that social media platform to share conversations between him and Sean “Diddy” Combs. Diddy, 52, says, “Stop playing these internet games.” And don’t feel threatened. You’ll be OK. Just Love. Ye replied that “this is not a game” and that he would “use you as an example to show the Jews who told you to call me no one can threaten or affect me. I told you this is war. Now go get you some work. “
Musk’s delight when West returned to Twitter was actually in response to a photo Ye posted of him with Mark Zuckerberg and others. “Look at this Mark,” Ye wrote. “How did you kick me off Instagram? You were my n—-. “

Kanye and Elon have been friends since at least 2011, according to Insiders. Ye swings after SpaceX, and Musk tweeted a photo of them standing in front of what appears to be a SpaceX capsule. Nine years later, when a Twitter account retweeted the photo, Elon tweeted that he had a “hell of a decade”.

Four years after that meeting at SpaceX, Elon praised Kanye for Time 100. Musk wrote: “Kanye West will be the first to tell you he’s on this list. “The guy doesn’t believe in false modesty, and he shouldn’t. Kanye’s belief in himself and his incredible perseverance – he performed his first single with a silent jaw – have brought him to where he is today. And he fought for his place in the culture hall with a purpose. … [H]I want everyone else to do the same: participate, ask questions, push boundaries. Now that he’s a pop culture juggler, he has the platform to get there. He is not afraid of being judged or ridiculed in the process. “
