Takeoff was shot dead in a melee at a Houston bowling alley just after 2:30 a.m. on November 1. His bandmate and uncle, Quavo, was with him at the time of the photo shoot. The rapper died on arrival at emergency services.
Drake and Migos toured together for three months in 2018 on their Aubrey & The Three Migos tour. Drake collaborated with the group in 2013 when he remixed their song “Versace”, giving them wider recognition. The 2018 tour took the rappers to various arenas across the United States from August to November.
Takeoff and Quavo had only begun releasing music as a duo in the weeks before Takeoff’s death.
