Angelina Jolie Gets Emotional Dropping Daughter Zahara, 17, Off at Spelman College: Photo
Angelina Jolie right by daughter Zahara Jolie-Pittalongside her new student orientation at Spelman College. The Oscar-winning actress, 46, beamed with pride as she posed alongside Zahara, 17, and the university’s Vice President of Student Affairs Darryl Holloman in photos shared to Holloman’s Instagram account on Thursday, August 11. Angelina and her daughter also met the school president Dr. Helene Gayle during the official drop off time on campus.
The 17-year-old will begin her freshman year at Atlanta-based HBCU (historically black colleges and universities), marking a big move from Los Angeles, CA. The girls-only school was founded in 1881, originally as Atlanta Baptist Female Seminary, before becoming Spelman College in 1924.
According to the orientation for new students from August 10-15, Zahara will have her first official day of school on August 17. There is no word yet on what major Zahara plans to study, however, the school that is best known is the college liberal arts school – also suggests that she can track down her mom and dad Brad Pittenter a film career.
Angelina is clearly emotional about the big transition in a video shot by Holloman, where Dr. Gayle asks “how it feels” to be “Spelman’s mom”. Angelina revealed, “I’m going to start crying! I haven’t started crying yet.” The president then comforted her, telling the mother-of-six there would be “a lot of time to cry” as Ang added that she “heard” that “tomorrow is the big night” and that she ” try hard together”.
The Lara Croft: Tomb Raider the star revealed that Zahara will be going to college in early August. She was spotted taking pictures with other students at the school, clearly excited about her next chapter. “Zahara with her Spelman sisters!” Angelina captioned the photo taken on July 31. “Congratulations to all the freshmen starting this year. A very special place and it is an honor to have a family member who is a new Spelman girl,” she added.
Zahara isn’t the first Jolie-Pitt teen to go to college: brother Maddox21 years old, studying at Yonsei University of Korea since 2019.
