Vivek Agnihotri chuffed at ‘The Kashmir Files’ being selected for IFFI Indian Panorama
Mumbai: Vivek filmmaker Ranjan Agnihotri was on cloud nine when his director’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was selected for the upcoming IFFI’s Panoramic India Section.
The film presents a heartbreaking story of the pain, suffering and struggles of the Kashmiri Pandit community in 1990.
Reacting to the news, Vivek told IANS, “The Kashmir file is one of the special movies for me. The movie was released in early 2022 and since then that year has been the fruit of all our efforts. I am really grateful that the film has now been selected for ‘The Panoramic of India for IFFI 2022’ and I am very much looking forward to it. “
He added, “The selection of the ‘Kashmir Records’ in the Indian Panorama is not only prestigious but also helps bring the cause of the Kashmir genocide to an international audience as it is an international festival. . This is the first time any Indian film has acted as a soft power for India.”
Panoramic India was introduced in 1978 as part of IFFI to promote Indian Cinema along with India’s rich culture and heritage with the help of cinematic art.
The film was released on March 11, 2022 starring Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar and Mithun Chakraborty. This is just one of the few films that have brought big profits at the box office for producers.
