Pathaan OTT rights reportedly bagged by Amazon Prime Video

Pathaan directed by Siddharth Anand is an upcoming Bollywood spy action thriller set to hit theaters on January 25, 2023. It will be released in Hindi with two dub versions. Languages: Tamil and Telugu. The film has created quite a buzz thanks to the huge fan base for the film’s male lead Shah Rukh Khan. According to the report, Pathaan’s OTT rights have been bundled by Amazon Prime Video, and the film is rumored to release on the platform in late March or early April.

Pathaan has been produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films and is the fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, which includes Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai and War. It was also the first YRF film to release Dolby Cinema and the first film shot with IMAX cameras in Bollywood.

According to reports (via), Pathaan’s worldwide OTT digital streaming rights were sold to Amazon Prime Video for Rs 100 crores.

Reports suggest that lead actor Shah Rukh Khan will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video in late March or early April. However, there is no official word on the film’s OTT release date yet.

The film directed by Siddharth Anand stars Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan, RAW agent, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham as Jim, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana as Colonel Sunil Luthra. Viewers will also get to see a guest appearance by Salman Khan.

Pathaan’s music has been composed by the famous duo Vishal-Shekhar. However, the latest Jhoome Jo Pathaan movie soundtrack was not loved by many netizens, who mocked and attacked Vishal-Shekhar on social media for writing the song.

Another controversy also swirled around the film, in which netizens and government officials insulted Deepika Padukone for wearing a saffron bikini during the song Besharam Rang. The reason behind that is that the saffron color of the bikini offends Hindu sensibilities. As a result, outraged fans demanded a boycott of Pathaan.
