Odia upcoming film ‘Khara’ selected for Best International Film Festival 2022
Balangir: Odia’s upcoming film ‘Khara’, set in the extreme heat conditions of Titlagarh in Balangir district, has been officially selected to participate in the prestigious 2022 Best International Film Festival. After the super success of Babusan Mohanty, the movie Odia acted ‘DAMAN‘, ‘Khara’ is expected to receive high praise from Odia movie fans, because this movie is also based on an original script and is not inspired by any south Indian film. .
Everyone knows about the extreme heat condition of Titlagarh in Balangir district. Before that, people had tried to take certain steps so that the very high temperature of this town could be reduced but to no avail. This extreme temperature condition makes life difficult for many people in this town while they have to live a normal life during the summer it becomes hard work. This was addressed in this movie.
The extreme temperature conditions were reflected in the music and before that a popular song titled “Titlagarh nei se ita Tatlagarh” was performed, which became a huge hit. The singer of this song Pankanj Jal created ‘Khara’. His wife and singer Manasi Panigrahi are the producers of the film while the story and music are by Pankaj Jal himself.
Renowned cinematographer Gopal Pradhan is the film’s Director of Photography (DOP), who has previously been critically acclaimed for his outstanding camera work in other films and music albums.
Jugal Sahu directed the film starring Srikara Mishra, Natyabhusan Jagadananda Chhuria, Lalit Pujari in the lead roles.
‘Daman’ and ‘Khara’ are synonymous as both films deal with a chronic problem of the region. ‘Daman’ refers to how malaria could be eradicated by a government initiative in the divided part of Maoist Odisha’s Malkangiri district with hard work of a young doctor. Similarly, ‘Khara’ shows the problem faced by the people of Titlagarh during the summer due to extreme temperature conditions.
