Falguni Pathak on Neha Kakkar’s ‘Maine Payal Hai’ remake: Wish I could take legal action
Mumbai: Neha Kakkar is currently receiving much buzz on social media for remaking Queen Falguni Pathak’s iconic figure ‘Maine Payal Hai’ who wants to take legal action against the Bollywood singer.
The 53-year-old singer told PinkVilla that she was happy to see the fan love for the original song, which was released in 1999.
“I felt overwhelmed and moved to receive so much love from all over the world for the song, so I had to share their feelings,” Falguni said.
Falguni also shared that she was not approached by the producers of ‘O Sajna’, Kakkar’s version of the song.
According to Pinkvilla, Falguni retweeted a story by one of her fans asking her to sue Kakkar.
When asked if she plans to take the legal route, Falguni said: “I wish I could but the rights don’t belong to me.”
When further asked if the producers or Kakkar tried to contact her after seeing her Instagram stories, Falguni said: “No.”
