Big B discovers ‘gyan ki shakti’ in the first crorepati of ‘KBC 14’
Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan asked contestant Kavita Chawla of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 14’ why a check for Rs 3,20,000 meant so much to her after she expressed her joy at receiving it.
Chawla, who became the first ‘crorepati’ of this season’s reality quiz show, said in her answer to him that she used to earn Rs 20 once a day and now, using her wits, she got that substantial amount in one issue in just a few hours.
Bachchan then said that she is endowed with ‘gyaan ki hakti’ – her “superpower” is her knowledge.
The contestant said, “So far, this is my first big income that I have received on the ‘KBC’ stage. I remember there was a time when I worked on my sewing machine for 8 hours and during those hours I was only getting Rs 20 per day. From Rs 20 to Rs 3,20,000, it took me 30 years to reach this milestone”.
Chawla is a housewife from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The 45-year-old contestant told the host that she had a close relationship with her son Vivek and wanted to spend the money she won for his education. She will try the Rs 7.5 crore question on September 19 and September 20.
