After ‘Kaithi’, ‘RRR’, Vijay-starrer ‘Master’ next in line for Japanese release
Chennai: After the blockbuster ‘RRR’ by director Karthi and SS Rajamouli ‘RRR’ with Ram Charan and Junior NTR, ‘Master’ starring Vijay is all about to premiere in Japan.
Sources say the film will be shown in Japan from November 18. “The Japanese version of the film has been named ‘Sensei’. The film is being dubbed in Japanese for release there,” the sources added. Like Kaithi, Master is also directed by Vijay Kanakaraj.
Rajinikanth’s Tamil films have been remarkably successful in Japan. In fact, the Tamil superstar also has a huge fan base in the Land of the Rising Sun. However, not many South Indian films have been released in the East Asian country so far.
Late last year, Lokesh Kanakaraj’s super cheesy Tamil film ‘Kaithi’, starring Karthi, was released in Japan. The development occurred after one of the Japanese distributors expressed interest in recommending the film to audiences in Japan.
“We were approached by a distributor who liked the film and wanted to introduce it in Japan. This is our first time releasing one of our films in Japan. If this is successful, a new market will open up,” says ‘Kaithi’ maker SR Prabhu.
