After selling a record 6,023 of its cars in June, Czech automaker Škoda Auto recently announced a new model for its much-loved SUV, the Kushaq. The company has also introduced a series of updates and changes to the compact SUV to celebrate its first anniversary in India and around the world. With these new additions, Kushaq now has more features on its list than it originally launched in the country. Currently, Kushaq is also the top seller for the domestic brand.

In terms of updates, the entire Kushaq line-up now comes standard with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System and a new head liner in the interior. A 20.32cm Skoda infotainment system with knobs and buttons for specific tasks has also been added to the Kushaq, improving ergonomics and driver simplicity of use.
In addition, the company has also introduced a new trim, the Sunroofless trim (NSR) for the SUV. The new decor is alternated between Ambition and Contemporary Style variations. Type 1.0 TSI is the foundation for the Type NSR variant. It will also only come with a 6-speed manual transmission and include a 4-dial medium analogue instrument cluster, giving consumers another affordable option. The Top Style variant with Sunroof now features a 20.32cm Skoda Virtual Cockpit in lieu of analog dials for the driver’s dashboard.
The company hasn’t made any major mechanical tweaks, and Kushaq continues to sport the 1.0 TSI’s choice of either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The popular 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic will also be available for the performance-oriented 1.5 TSI EVO engine. The Kushaq line currently comes in five variants: Active, Ambition, Style (NSR), Style and the just released Kushaq Monte Carlo version.
