New Delhi: Weekend sit and enjoy your home cinema. The upcoming weekend of July is just as thrilling as the past month. With more movies and web series releasing this week, there’s plenty of ‘must-see’ content this weekend.
Here is a list of movies and web series worth watching on OTT this weekend:
1. Maamanithan
Tamil star and ‘Makkal Selvan’ National Award winner Vijay Sethupathi ‘Maamanithan’ tells the story of a car driver whose life becomes messy due to unexpected family problems. It stars Gayathrie, KPAC Lalitha, Guru Somasundaram, Anikha Surendran and Shaji Chen, along with Vijay Sethupathi.
‘Maamanithan’ was released on July 15th on ‘Aha Tamil’ OTT platform.
2. Jaadugar
The story revolves around a small-town magician who has no interest in sports but is determined to lead his local team to the finals of the state tournament to marry the girl he loves. The film has the participation of the cult face of OTT, Jitendra Kumar aka Jeetu Bhaiya. The film also stars Arushi Sharma and Rukshar Dhillon.
The film is written by Biswapati Sarkar and directed by Sameer Saxena, both famous faces from TVF. ‘Jaadugar’ will stream on Netflix from July 15.
3. Persuasion
Persuasion is an adaptation of the famous novel of the same name by Jane Austen. The film stars Dakota Johnson, Richard E. Grant, Henry Golding, Ben Bailey Smith and Cosmo Jarvis. The plot reads, “Eight years after Anne Elliot was persuaded not to marry a dashing man of modest background, they meet again. Will she seize her second chance with true love? “
It premieres on July 15 on Netflix.
4. Vaashi
One month after its release in cinemas, ‘Vaashi’ will be released on OTT. The drama is a courtroom drama that revolves around two talented self-made lawyers determined to win a case where they sided with two opposing factions.
Malayalam film starring Keerthy Suresh and Tovino Thomas. The movie will release on July 17 on Netflix.
5. Godse
Telugu movie ‘Godse’ is about the main character played by Satyadev Kancharana. He sets out to unravel the hidden agenda of the system to rob students of their careers and lives. This leads to a fight between Godse and the government for justice.
It stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Adithya Menon and Nassar along with Kancharana.
