New Delhi: The dating news of businessman Lalit Modi and actor Sushmita Sen sent shockwaves across the internet on July 14. Lalit Modi took to Twitter to announce he’s dating former Miss Universe and that he too. share some never-before-seen pictures of them. One of the photos that surfaced online was of the couple with Lalit Modi’s ex-wife, Minal Modi.
Lalit Modi shared the photo on his Instagram handle, along with several other photos of him and current girlfriend Sushmita Sen. Out of all the photos, this is the one that caught everyone’s attention. In the photo, Sushmita and the soon-to-be couple can be seen engaging in a tense discussion. People have posted lots of congratulatory messages in the comments section for the new couple.
However, Minal Modi passed away in 2018 from cancer.

She was born in Nigeria to Pesu Aswani, a Sindhi businessman of Nigerian descent. Before marrying Lalit Modi, she was married to Jack Sagrani, a Nigerian businessman. Sagrani’s name appeared in a scam where he was detained in Saudi Arabia for seven months. During this time, she is carrying their child, Karima Sagrani.
When Minal separated from Jack, she moved to Delhi where she lived at the house of Bina Modi (Lalit’s mother). Lalit and Minal made their love public and married on October 17, 1991, in Mumbai. The couple has two children, Aaliya Modi and Ruchir Modi. Lalit Modi is 10 years younger than his wife Minal.
On December 10, 2018, Minal passed away from cancer at the age of 64. Lalit took to social media to announce her death and wrote, “My Love My Life My Soulmate. You’ve finally come to Peace and I’m sure you’ll follow us.”
He still wishes her happy birthday on his Instagram account.
Lalit Modi announced the news as he tweeted and called Sushmita her ‘better half’. Netizens were shocked that the couple were married, but Mr. Modi made it clear that they were only dating at this point.
